Plot The story narrates the journey of a young woman who has to find a way to her dreams and who unexpectedly finds a constant companion in the person she least expected it from: her traditional husband and his family. Sandhya Kothari is an ambitious, educated young woman, who pursues her dream of becoming an for her father. Sooraj Rathi is a partially-educated, simple young master-, who's also the perfect son of the middle-class Rathi Family.
Sandhya's dreams and aspirations are destroyed when she loses her parents Arvind Kothari (Rakesh Kukreti) and Kanchan Kothari in a terrorist attack and her elder brother Ankur Kothari , planning to move abroad, fixes her marriage to Sooraj, a person, raised in a completely different environment and with different manners. But Sooraj's strict and conservative mother, Santosh Rathi aka Bhabho wants Sooraj's spouse and her daughter-in-law to be simple, not well-educated, with the excellent skills of a housewife.
As it is not accepted for a woman to live alone in, Ankur has to lie about Sandhya's education level to ensure her settlement. Sandhya has to give her college education and dreams of personal growth and independence up and accustom herself to a whole new family of strangers, while accepting her roles as a wife and a daughter-in-law of a traditional provincial. After Sandhya's truth of being educated and not knowing how to cook is revealed, Bhabho banishes her. Sandhya faces great challenges in the, including a terrorist occupation, but with the help of the rest of the students, manages to stop the criminals, establishing herself as an extraordinary. The story then focuses on Sandhya's career as a, as she fights various criminals, including terrorist leader Rajkumar (Gaurav Sharma), while in the meantime, solving her various family problems as she struggles to balance between her professional duties and domestic responsibilities. Together with Sooraj, she forms a deep relationship with underlying love, until a misunderstanding tears the couple apart. Sandhya moves to the to live with Ankur and his family, but with Bhabho's help, the misunderstanding is cleared up between her and Sooraj and they get back together. Sooraj (who was present at Sandhya's accident) has lost his mental stability due to the shock of witnessing his wife's death and refuses to believe she's gone. Bhabho now hates Sandhya as she holds her responsible for Sooraj's condition. Now, Bhabho wants Sooraj to remarry to a girl, named Laalima Agarwal , for whom she believes, is able to help him get better. Meanwhile, Sandhya is shown to be alive, struggling with the difficulties of Mahabhali Mission in an outlying village, under the name of Segarika Taas.
Later, Sandhya discovers that the terrorists are planning to force the to, using. She eventually manages to sabotage their plan but her true identity is exposed and the terrorists capture and almost torture her to death. By the accident, Sooraj finds out Sandhya is indeed alive which restores his sanity. After lots of insisting, the agrees to send Sooraj on the mision and help Sandhya. After many challenges, he rescues her, the leader of the terrorists is killed and the others arrested, and after successfully completing the mission, Sandhya and Sooraj return home safe and sound. However, Bhabho refuses to forgive Sandhya, who also faces a stiff competition in the face of Laalima, who falls in love with Sooraj, but Sooraj and Sandhya's love wins and Bhabho forgives her. Later, Sooraj's youngest brother Mohit Rathi is shot to death after attempting to molest Laalima.

Initially, Sandhya suspects Arzoo of being a terrorist but later not only saves her from the terrible misunderstanding, but also helps her get accepted by Bhabho as her daughter-in-law. Sooraj meets with an accident and is stuck in a wheelchair.
Thus, he is unable to run his shop anymore and Sandhya decides to take it over, leaving her dreamed and hardly-achieved job in the aside, much to Sooraj and the family's displeasure. She gets to know about her 2nd pregnancy and delivers a daughter.
Overjoyed Sooraj overcomes his disability and is able to walk and run his shop again. The daughter is named Kanak which means '. Sandhya gets a proposal from the and decides to join the again. There she meets Arpita Khanna , who considers Sandhya as her rival at 1-st, but later becomes 1 of her best allies. After many theme changes in the show (including the return of Rajkumar and Sandhya and Ankur's reconciliation), as well as challenges and adventures of Sandhya and her family, the story finally comes to the long-expected. Vansh discovers the truth of his birth parents but hates them for giving him away.
